The structure of the MyCentre will be a company limited by guarantee, whereby the members of the company have limited liability.

This company which will be known as the Multicultural Youth Centre Ltd will be set up under the Corporations Law Act 2001 (Cth). It will have to comply with the laws in the Corporations Act that apply to public companies. The structure and constitution of MyCentre has been set up by Muslim taxation and legal professionals to meet the specific needs of MyCentre and to ensure the control and protection of the organisation for many generations to come inshaAllah.

The Corporations Act 2001(Cth) requires that a company limited by guarantee be set up with at least three directors and at least one secretary.

Management Structure

The board of directors is responsible for governing and overseeing the affairs of a company. Generally it is the board’s responsibility to identify an organisation’s strategic direction and goals. This is different to the role of the management of a company (that is, employees of the company like any Executive Director or CEO and other management staff) who have responsibility for the day to day decision-making and running of a company.

Mr. Samir Mohtadi, also known as Abu Hamza, has been involved with the Muslim community for over twenty years. A charismatic and influential leader, he founded the Islamic Information and Services Network of Australasia (IISNA), and has been instrumental in its growth. His motivational and inspiring weekly talks have positively affected many people during this time. In addition to this, he has spent a great deal of his time counselling the youth, spouses, as well as families. He has been involved in many community activities and non-profit organisations, and has made a very large mark on the lives of thousands of people.

Mr. Houssam Dannaoui is the managing director of Madina Halal Meats and Poultry Pty Ltd. At the age of twenty, Mr. Dannaoui established the company with two employees. Currently, Madina Halal Meats employs over thirty staff in two different plants - Brunswick and Laverton. Madina Halal Meats are committed to training, mentoring, fair employment and equal opportunity. Houssam acknowledges the importance of charity and community support, and allocates a large sum of his company’s profit for such causes.

Mr. Ali Abou-Eid is the director of Taxline Group Pty Ltd, a public accountancy firm in Coburg. The firm was set up in 1992 and has grown from its humble one- person operations to one with seven full time and two part-time employees. Ali has also been associated with several Islamic organisations and community groups, and has served as a treasurer for the Islamic Society of Victoria as well as the Islamic Foundation of Australia, where he has been treasurer for the past five years. Ali was also a President and coach of a local junior football club, Coburg Junior football club, in 2003-04.

Mr. Haysam Mohtadi has been a successful entrepreneur who established Rhino Fire Protection Services, a company which he was a Managing Director of for 12 years before selling it to Automatic Fire Protection. The company achieved multi-million dollar turnover and employed over 30 staff. Haysam continues to be associated with Automatic Fire Protection as a General Manager and is an integral part of its continued growth and expansion in the Fire Protection Industry. Due to his success in the Fire Protection Industry, Haysam is President of the NFIA Victoria Inc, Director of the Fire Industry Training, and Victorian Representative of the National Fire Industry National Council.

Mr. Murad Selek has been passionately and actively involved in working with the community since 1997, being one of the founders of the Islamic Information and Services Network of Australasia (IISNA). Within this organisation, he has held a number of innovative and active roles, directing it from simple, humble operations towards a higher standard of services. These roles included organising regular international speakers, coordinating lecture events, counselling youth, and being actively involved with other organisations. Additionally, he has experience in international trade, and is also a fitness leadership instructor.

Mr. Jalal Soueid, has successfully graduated from Business Management and worked as a Call Centre Manager/Project Manager for Optus and Vodafone for 8 years. He is currently employed as a Retail Manager for Madina Halal Meats. He has been passionately involved with the youth at the Islamic Information and Services Network of Australasia (IISNA) since 2000, organising camps and recreational activities. Jalal has also been actively involved in organising the Annual Unity Cup - a community event which involves the Australian Federal Police, Essendon and North Melbourne Football Clubs, Victoria Police and the Islamic Community.

Mr. Cem Hüseyin, B. Com. (Tas.), Dip Ed. (Melb.), is a proud father of three girls, and husband. He has taught for over seventeen years in a myriad of schools in both Tasmania and Victoria, teaching at public and private schools across grades seven to twelve. His lengthy involvement with the community in roles varied as treasurer of various organisations, to organising aid to poverty-stricken countries, and being an active board member of the Islamic Information and Services Network of Australasia (IISNA), is both a source of pride and satisfaction. Currently employed at Darul Ulum College of Victoria, Cem is busy with not only educating students, but changing lives.

Mr. Amin Assafiri is a graduate from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) and has a double degree in Computer Systems Engineering (Bachelor of Engineering) and Computer Science (Bachelor of Applied Science). He has been working in the computer technology field for over 3 years as an IT consultant. Amin volunteers his time to various initiatives to help spread the true and beautiful message of Islam - the most notable initiative being his involvement as the Project Manager of the Islamic Pamphlet Project which was established in 2006 and has now produced and distributed over 280,000 Islamic Pamphlets across the world.
